Privacy Policy

The Nurse's Station is a service operated by Black Nurses Killing It, LLC ("we," "us," "the app"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

When you create and use an account, we collect:

• Account information: your email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider).
• Profile information: name, age, gender, dating preferences, professional role, specialty, shift, bio, and photos you choose to upload.
• Professional license information: license number and issuing state, submitted for the sole purpose of verifying your professional credentials.
• Location information: if you enable location access, we collect your device's GPS coordinates to show you nearby members and calculate distance. You can also enter a city manually, in which case we do not calculate precise distance from that text.
• Activity and content: profiles you like or pass on, matches, and the messages you send to other members.
• Reports and safety information: any reports you submit about other members, and records of members you block.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and operate your account and profile.
• To verify your professional license before granting access to matching and messaging.
• To show you relevant, nearby members based on your preferences and location.
• To facilitate matching and messaging between members.
• To communicate with you about your account (verification status, matches, safety notices).
• To investigate reports, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain the safety of the community.

3. Professional License Verification — Important Limitations

Our license verification process is not a criminal background check. It is intended to confirm that a submitted license number is associated with a valid, active professional credential. It does not verify identity beyond the information provided, does not check criminal history, and does not guarantee the ongoing accuracy of a member's professional status after approval. You should exercise the same personal judgment and caution using this app that you would with any platform where you meet new people.

4. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the app:

• Other members: your profile, photos, and bio are visible to other verified members for matching purposes. Your email, license number, and precise location are never displayed to other members.
• Service providers: we use Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, and hosting, and SendGrid for sending account-related emails. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and access controls that restrict who can view sensitive information such as license numbers. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure, and we cannot promise absolute security of your information.

6. Your Choices and Rights

• You can edit or update your profile information at any time from My Badge.
• You can block other members, which prevents them from appearing in your Station or Call Lights.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
• You can disable location access in your device settings at any time; doing so will limit distance-based matching.

7. Children's Privacy

The Nurse's Station is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
